I recently posted on the Pretty Little Hooky Things facebook page that I had some exciting news to share.
I am hugely pleased to announce I am going to be working with an amazing local charity, The Society of St James, this year, in honour of their 40th year helping the homeless in Southampton and Hampshire.
Pretty Little Hooky Things will be creating and selling a range of crocheted goodies with 40p from each sale going to SSJ regardless of sale price. Each range will have a ruby red element to it, to carry through the 40th anniversary celebrations, and I am delighted to be able to launch my first range of tea cosies right here on my blog.

Everyone likes a cuppa, and SSJ get through a lot of them, making a huge difference to many people’s lives in and around Southampton and Hampshire.
So how can you help?
Spread the word! It doesn’t matter if you’re a Hampshire Hog or not, sharing this page, tweeting the link, commenting, all those things will help SSJ and the amazing work they do get the recognition they deserve.
Buy my tea cosies! Your donation of 40p per sale will help someone without a home, or someone fighting addiction, or with mental health issues, in ways most of us can never imagine. Your tea cosy will definitely warm the cockles of your heart, as well as your tea pot.
Donate to SSJ. Just £3 will buy a box of tea, which will give a lot of vulnerable people a warm comforting drink, or add an extra £1 to that and help SSJ support Hampshire’s most vulnerable citizens for another forty years.
*Tea Cosies will be available to buy on Folksy as soon as I can get them listed. In the mean time, you can buy directly from me at the bargain price of £8.90 + £1.90 P&P

FAB! These are beautiful and I love how you have written your blog post :) A very worthwhile cause indeed. I would buy one, but we don’t have a teapot!!! I’m going to wait to see what else you bring out but will retweet etc right now! x
I’m tempted to give Mummylish a teapot, just so she can treat herself to a Ruby Celebratory Tea Cosy.
This is such a brilliant idea, a great product and a wonderful way to give.
Well done Steph. The InexpertCrafter WILL be promoting this when she next blogs!
xxx
What a generous and original way to choose to support the most vulnerable people in your community. And yes, you are right, the difference a tea makes is enormous. It’s often the first step to making the changes that can turn a life around.
It’s the pretty little hooky things that can make the biggest difference!
I am seriously in love with your tea cosy and will be ordering one pronto! Dee knows how bare and naked my poor tea pot is, and what better way to clothe it whilst supporting TSSJ at the same time! What a talent you are Stephanie and what a sweet team you and Dee Dee make! Mucho love to you both xxxx
MY word they look fab! I will have to get a teapot first though!!! You are such a very clever bunny. I LOVE THEM and well done you helping a charity! x
lovely thing to do and the tea cosys are great.
Thank you, you lovely lot! Glad you like them x

A lovely idea and a great charity in our local area x
Just been reading about a coffee shop who are giving away coffee all day tomorrow, and suggesting people give their dollars to a local cause (specific in this case).
It occurred to me that this whole ‘What a Difference a Tea Makes’ thing could be a winner (or as Steph would say, winnnnaaaaaaar).
Who’s up for having a difference a tea makes ChariTea Party?
Who thinks I should persuade a tea room to do free teas on St James’ Day (Jul25th) and suggest donations to SSJ?
