The Gallery – Motherhood

Just over two years ago someone came into my life and changed it astronomically.  I anxiously awaited her arrival for nine months, pored over baby name books and cherished every kick (even the ones to the ribs).  Then, one Wednesday afternoon in late May 2008, she arrived, screaming and red, but perfect, and with her she brought joy and love and happiness.

And since that Wednesday, I’ve watched as she’s developed from this helpless tiny newborn, wide eyed, colicky, and always hungry, to the charming, sweet, funny, fiercely independent (“TURN, Mummy, TURRRN” when she wants to do something for herself) toddler she is now.  Oh, and she’s still always hungry.

There is nothing I love more than being Ruby’s mummy.

  1. I always remember that picture the first one, when our babies were still so little and I remember thinking how big ruby had got so quickly lol

    So sweet!

  2. Beautiful Blog! Hope your all keeping well and Ruby is enjoying the sunshine x

  3. Reminds me of how it was so many years ago now. My youngest is ten. People always tell you to enjoy their young years as they go so fast. Actually, they really really do.

  4. @Nat I can’t believe it was 2 years ago. I look at her now and often have to scoop my jaw off the floor when I remember how long ago it was, still feels like yesterday (or at least, last month) :)

  5. @Carly Ruby won’t let me cut her toenails for love nor money. I can’t believe I’ve not thought to do it when she’s asleep.

  6. @Ruth she was really unwell in that photo, been up all night puking, not eaten all day and then just collapsed on me and went to sleep infront of Cbeebies.

  7. Lovely photos and great words to go with them…..they really do change our lives don’t they. Amazing how quickly after having a baby you can’t imagine life before. :0)

  8. My fave is last one as well, once they get moving and independent those snuggles get shorter and shorter x
