It’s been quite a weekend Chez Chapman. We:
- Had family visiting. My mum, her boyfriend (seems silly calling him that when they are both in their fifties), and my sister hauled down from London. Their house is being completely replastered and redecorated at the moment due to some crazy subsidence and an insurance claim. I think they are all pleased to not be surrounded by dust for a couple of days.
- Celebrated Small Daughter’s third birthday. Which deserves, and will get, an entire post all of it’s very own, but needless to say, it was fan-bloody-tastic. I couldn’t have pulled it off without the help of my lovely lovely friend Dee who spent a lot of time in the weeks running up to the party helping me drink fizz so we could paint the corks to look like fairy toadstools, AND not only supplied me with a book full of amazing party cakes but pretty much made Ruby’s. She did say I could take credit for the cake, but it has to be have been 75% her work. Good job, lady. And I see no reason whatsoever to stop the cava drinking on occasion.
- Accidently got to church an hour late this morning, so just stayed for coffee and biscuits after so Small Daughter could distribute her thank you cards. Whoops!
- Ate ourselves silly on spaghetti bolognaise, and spent the afternoon getting Small Daughter on her new bike.
- Witnessed Baby Son’s first laugh whilst he was watching his sister play in the bath. It was beautiful.
We’re all really quite tired. Plans for tonight involve hair dye and a Star Wars DVD… If Baby Son ever goes to sleep.
You are way too generous with your compliments, those cakes were as light as air and I had NO part in that!
My plans for today included hair dye too. I think I did a decent job. x
