A World In Love

Almost every Friday, Roo and I get ourselves together and toddle off to a local coffee shop for Crafty Coffee, where, as the name suggests, a lot of very nice ladies sit and drink hot beverages and do crafty stuff like knitting and crochet, embroidery, spinning and the like.  I tend to knit, because I can’t really do much else that doesn’t involve a sewing machine, and anyway, a lot of my time there is spent supervising Ruby whilst she plays Connect 4 and Jenga, so taking something along that involves more than about 10% concentration is a silly idea.

Anyway, I digress. This was brought to my attention this morning and isn’t it a lovely lovely idea?  You can make it as simple or as complex as you like.  I’m definitely going to take part and I’ve had a few nice ideas.  I think, however, that I’m going to attempt something a little different, that doesn’t involve the use of knitting needles, a crochet hook or indeed any type of yarn.

Being that I’m almost 35 weeks pregnant, I don’t think I’ll be able to take my handcrafted heart to where I initially wanted to, Chesil Beach – where I got engaged and where Ross and I took an impromptu trip to the day after our wedding – as it does tend to involve a scramble up some steep shingle, and as I start having braxton hicks contractions just wandering aimlessly around the supermarket (whilst looking forlornly at the gin), attempting to scale Jurassic Coast shingle might send me into full blown labour.  But I’ve got a bit of time to find somewhere else that means a lot so I’m sure I’ll come up with something.

So are there any other crafty folk out there?  And if there are, do you fancy taking part and sharing the love?

  1. Ooooh I like the resident’s gardens/pavillion idea! I think given the time of year Unborn Baby Son is due, a jurassic labour might be somewhat chilly.
